The Workshops
For whom. This workshop is for anyone who looks at their current job and thinks, "I'm not sure what I want, but it isn't this." OR, "I like some of this, but something is missing."

Workshop Outcomes. The goal is to understand and explore your ideal self, develop your personal vision statement, and align that vision with your work life.

Rooted in positive psychology. Change is hard work. Changes often fail.

Making any sort of change, including a job/career change, requires intentionality. Job changes can often be misguided. People often make career change because they are running from something instead of running towards something that is truly a fit.
Our change intentions have to be driven by clear motivators. Years of study around change have identified a few powerful motivators, one being a clear picture of our ideal selves.
Within the perspective of positive psychology, the ideal self is not considered
a defensive function; it is the core mechanism for self-regulation and intrinsic
motivation. It is manifest as a personal vision, or an image of what kind of person one
wishes to be, what the person hopes to accomplish in life and work...the 'ideal self'
is the emotional driver of intentional change

-Richard Boyatzis, 2006

So, what are your motivators? What do you want your life to look like? What inspires you? What are your passions? Your dreams? Your values? What is your personal vision for your life?

These are massive, fundamental questions that take time, effort, and investment to answer.

This workshop helps you explore your ideal self and personal vision in the context of your work life.

Key Words
Ideal Self: The ideal self is a psychological component of the self (Baumeister, 1998, Boyatzis, 2006). Within the perspective of positive psychology, the ideal self (IS) is not considered a defensive function; it is the core mechanism for self-regulation and intrinsic motivation.
Personal Vision: A personal vision statement is a statement that describes your personal values, your strengths, and your goals. It can be focused on life or professional goals, and it is intended to orient you toward your long-term dreams (BetterUp, 2023)
